Data not syncing

  • Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular).
  • Ensure you are signed in to your Menoa account (Settings → Account).
  • Pull down on the home screen to force a manual sync.
  • If the issue persists, close and reopen the app. Your data is safely stored locally and will sync once connectivity is restored.

App crashing or freezing

  • Make sure you are running the latest version of Menoa from the App Store.
  • Ensure your iPhone is running iOS 17.0 or later.
  • Try force-quitting the app (swipe up from the app switcher) and restarting it.
  • If crashes continue, restart your device. If the problem persists, email bugs@menoa.health with your device model and iOS version.

HealthKit not connecting

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health on your iPhone.
  • Tap Menoa and ensure the data categories you want to share are enabled.
  • If Menoa doesn’t appear, open Menoa → Settings → HealthKit and tap “Connect.”
  • HealthKit data may take a few minutes to appear after first connecting.

Notifications not working

  • Go to your iPhone Settings → Notifications → Menoa.
  • Make sure “Allow Notifications” is enabled and your preferred alert style is selected.
  • In Menoa, go to Settings → Reminders and verify your tracking reminder times.
  • Check that Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is not silencing alerts.

Cannot download or update

  • Menoa requires iOS 17.0 or later. Check your iOS version in Settings → General → About.
  • Ensure you have enough free storage on your device.
  • Try signing out and back into the App Store if the download button is unresponsive.
  • If you are in a region where Menoa is not yet available, it will not appear in the App Store.

Account or login issues

  • Forgot your password? Tap “Forgot password” on the login screen to receive a reset link.
  • Not receiving the reset email? Check your spam/junk folder. The email comes from noreply@menoa.health.
  • If you signed up via Apple Sign In, use the Apple login button instead.
  • Still locked out? Email support@menoa.health with the email address associated with your account.

Frequently asked questions

Is Menoa free to use?

Yes. Menoa’s core features — symptom tracking, MRS scoring, medication logging, and basic insights — are free to use with no time limit. Premium features like advanced AI insights, bloodwork analysis, and unlimited report exports are available with a subscription. You can use Menoa entirely in guest mode (no account required) or create a free account to sync your data across devices.

Is my health data safe?

Your privacy is our top priority. All data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). In guest mode, your data never leaves your device. With an account, it syncs to our secure cloud infrastructure. We never sell, share, or use your health data for advertising.

What devices does Menoa support?

Menoa is currently available for iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later. This includes iPhone Xs and newer models. We are exploring support for iPad and Android. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when we expand platform support.

Can I use Menoa without creating an account?

Absolutely. Guest mode gives you full access to symptom tracking, MRS scoring, and basic insights without providing any personal information. Your data stays on your device only. The tradeoff is that data cannot sync across devices or be recovered if you lose your phone. You can create an account at any time to enable cloud sync.

What is the MRS score?

The Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) is a clinically validated, standardized questionnaire used by healthcare professionals worldwide to assess the severity of menopause symptoms. It covers 11 symptoms across three domains: somatic (physical), psychological, and urogenital. Menoa calculates your MRS score automatically and tracks it over time so you — and your doctor — can see how your symptoms change.

How does the AI health companion work?

Menoa’s AI analyzes your logged symptoms, treatments, sleep patterns, and bloodwork to surface patterns and correlations you might not notice on your own. For example, it might identify that your hot flashes tend to be worse on nights with poor sleep, or that a medication change coincided with mood improvements.

AI insights are powered by Anthropic’s Claude and processed ephemerally — your data is not stored or used for AI training. AI outputs are informational only and should never replace medical advice.

Can I share my data with my doctor?

Yes. Menoa can generate detailed health summaries including your symptom trends, MRS scores over time, medication history, and bloodwork. You can export these as a PDF to share directly with your healthcare provider during appointments. Many users find this helps them have more productive and focused consultations.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Menoa subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then “Subscriptions.”
  3. Find Menoa and tap “Cancel Subscription.”

You will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. Your data is never deleted when you cancel — you simply return to the free tier.

How do I export or delete my data?

Export:Go to Settings → Data → Export Data. You can export as JSON (machine-readable) or CSV (spreadsheet-compatible). This includes all symptom logs, MRS scores, medication records, and notes.

Delete:Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data within 30 days and cannot be undone. You can also email privacy@menoa.health to request deletion.

Is Menoa a medical device?

No. Menoa is a wellness and health tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The MRS scores, AI insights, and trend data are for informational purposes only and should complement, not replace, professional medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider for medical decisions.

Reporting a bug?

To help us fix issues quickly, please include the following when emailing bugs@menoa.health:

  • Device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro)
  • iOS version(Settings → General → About)
  • Menoa app version(Settings → About in the app)
  • Description of what happened vs. what you expected
  • Steps to reproduce the issue, if possible
  • Screenshots or screen recordings if they help illustrate the problem

The more context you provide, the faster we can investigate and ship a fix.

Account & data management

Export your data

Download all your health data at any time in JSON or CSV format. Go to Settings → Data → Export Data in the app.

Delete your account

Permanently delete your account and all data from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is irreversible and completed within 30 days.

For GDPR, CCPA, or other data rights requests, email privacy@menoa.health. We respond within 5 business days.
